Since there has been lots of news in the tabloids about people getting fined for downloading music illegally, have you done anything about it? ie stop downloading etc.
Or are you just carrying on downloading? If so, what programme are you using?

I carry on downloading, i don't go overboard like I used to though. I use Limewire PRO which i nicked. I download movies and albums all the time though by using Bit Torrent. Bit Torrent is kewl because its not a P2P File Sharing Program. You download a torrent file which is basically a zip or ram folder and it opens in Bit Torrent. Whats different is that it doesn't go to a server to your computer. It goes from PC to PC

I don't download music anymore due to the fact that if i carry on downloading music celebs won't be able to drive round in ferrari's and live in mansions anymore!

I stopped downloading. i dont like the fact that one time, i got a virus, im not sure whether it was from the thing i downloaded or not. and i dont like the thought its illegal, and i could get fined for it. also i like supporting celebrities, and recently, my old computer broke, and I lost all my music, except the CD's i had bought. And sometimes, the ammount of files that corrupted was unbelievable. Plus theres something that seems more satisfying about having the actual CD's...appriciating them more and stuff. I dunno im strange.

If you have a decent enough anti-virus software then viruses can be counteracted. I agree with the illegal shite though, they can get your IP address and your address from that and I agree when you say it is better to have the produced CD too ! Dunno why !

Yeah ive started downloading more and more. I get most of the things off the net now.

BitTorrent is a P2P program, the torrent file is just holds the information on where to get your files from.
And all P2P programs send data from PC to PC, its just the way that you communicate with the servers that makes BitTorrent different.

i used to download tons, but i had to cut back because i got viruses and so had to re-format my computer. i use limewire but id much rather have the cd instead of one song, although it is easier said than done, i have to work to get my money and its not a lot when you want a cd every week, a digital camera, a zen micro, a new tv AND some ghds lol i should be saving

I find it easy enough to download the whole CD. It takes about 15 minutes which is quicker than going to the shop and its free so you can't really go wrong.
I think that music producers should realise why we are doing what we are doing (mainly the price is too expensive) and they should lower the cost of them which would make more people buy it and then they wouldn't be losing any money. Its common sense really.
