Should he be president?
You are kidding, right?
Other than that, I can't really give an educated opinion. I'll leave it up to the smart people like Kitsune ;).
Kitsune

Me? smart? Aww.... :P
Simply put, from what I've gathered at least, Presidents are mostly figureheads of authority. Spokespersons if you will.
You really think the government of the most powerful country in the world would let a man like Bush run the country? Some proportion of the citizens may be ok with that, but the people who actually are involved in the government? Hell no. He's a figurehead. It's the people behind him, plus the lobbyists who make the decisions. They just choose a candidate which would appeal most to the masses.
Simply put, George Bush doesn't make the decisions. He's just a little dumb, but his brain is hardly being put to anything more taxing than stumbling through pre-written speeches, so I don't think you can blame him for any Republican agenda. ;)
Of course, I'm just speculating, but hey. Nothing like a good conspiracy. :)

Kitsune, I misunderestimated you! lol
I always have wondered why they don't make presidnets write their own speeches, then we can reall see how smart they are

Bush himself isn't making the decisions, it's his advisers.
Bush is an idiot, nevertheless.
I think his administration is one of the worst in American history. Thank goodness the Democrats have gained control of Congress, so at least there's some opposition. Let's just hope they have the balls to fix things up.

(political anthem) screw the government it pretty much sux even though democracy is the best form of government out there since like the late 90s everone that has run is an idiot including Kerry. there all rich snobs that are board of life. what will it take to get another president as good as kennedy or something....alot.. anyways we make fun of bush because he is the president if kerry was in office you all would be like he suxs. it all runs off their ego's. anyways im not some antiamerican idiot (id like to serve when i get older) but the US does need to geth their heads out of their fat ass's and take control off all these situations.
sorry i though didnt read the question fully my bad

I agree to a point. I think it's tough to elect a good leader when there's not much to pick from.
What kind of "situations" do you suggest the US take control of? Are you talking about international or domestic?

Bush has seven million ill-routed advisors. And the larger half of America voted for him, though it was expected for Kerry to win. *shrugs* Most intelligent people are intelligent enough to not run for presidency, which is why the U.S. seems to end up with idiotic presidents.

Bush should be put in confinement for the things hes done to screw this country over. Not to mention the fact that he's a complete imbocile. He should go back to the third grade and relearn how to read and speak (the right way)

Bush is the best president ever, he's handled all of this bullshit great. his first year in office he's dealing with the biggest terrorist attack against the United States ever, he made the right decision going into Afghanistan and iraq. Saddam was caught and paid for what he did to innocent people with WMD, and other types of violence.
Yeah, before all of you say he didnt have any WMD, he did, he dropped gas bombs on villages of Kurds, those are WMD.
And for the people who say Bush just invaded iraq for no reason and rag on him for not finding WMD, every country in the world told Bush to enter Iraq, and that they had them for sure. It's not all of Bush's fault about anything, he made the right decision.
As for the war, pulling out will be the biggest mistake ever. Back when America fought Britian for its independence, Britian basically gave up, just liek what would happen today if America pulled out. Iraq knows they cant defeat us in any war, but they want to war to go on, the longer it goes on the more chance of America pulling out, and then they just do their shit all over again.

9/11 came at the perfect time for Bush. It gave him an excuse to carry out his administration's agenda in the Middle East. American public support for him rose when he was seen standing in Ground Zero, arm wrapped around a fireman, giving a "rah America rah!" speech.
But anyway.
Can I ask you how you feel about the torture bill being passed? The suspension of habeas corpus? How about illegal wiretapping?

The bill is up for pass this year I do believe, either way, if you do nothing wrong how can you bitch? Tell me are you hussling illegal porn through your house therefore don't want to be tapped? I mean common. Agenda or no agenda most Americans agree it had to be done, you can admit it or not, but when all that happened you were probably lined up right along side saying, take them out, wipe 'em off the grid and so forth, but now you probably change your word and act like a hypocrite, don't get me wrong, I am only assuming and of which is alright because most of America is like that.
Alot of American goverment teachers regret to dully notify people of every article and sub section of things and they always miss the things that are most important, read Article 1 Section 9 clause 2 of which has been apart of the Habeas Corpus since a long ago before Bush.
"The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it." <<< This would apply to ALL PRISONERS OF WAR
Lets also not mention the AEDPA which was enacted in 1996 which made it harder to claim "Habeas Corpus" in Capital crimes in the United States territory for US citizens, so you can't claim its all Bushes fault.

Yes excuse me for getting upset over the government deliberately breaking the law. Excuse me for getting upset over people's civil liberties being violated. Shame on me! You're right, illegal warrantless wiretapping is perfectly okay as long as it's not affecting me.

Is everyone who is being detained really a threat to public safety? Many who are detained aren't yet charged for a crime. Many of them are completely innocent. But then again I guess it's not really any of my concern if innocent people are being picked up and thrown in prisons without the chance to defend themselves. And then the United States of America torturing defenseless human beings? There's no proof in many cases! Just suspicion. They are completely helpless. Yeah, that's a real threat to our security.
Oh, and I didn't claim it was all Bush's fault. In fact if you read back to the first page of this thread I mentioned his advisers making many of the decisions for him. I disgust his administration, not just him. But you're right, I don't like him much either.

Research U.S. / Federal Warrant law before you shoot off at the mouth like you know what your talking about. Hint http://www.google.com/ they still have to get a warrant and affidavit before they do anything, the only thing different is the scope pretty much.
Um, no. But thanks for speaking for me. I can see you really know what you're talking about.
Maybe you missed the part about "ASSUMING" perhaps you should read closer next time before you try and get all butt hurt?

I didn't know that if I was in the middle of a war, I should take the time to stop the war and charge each person individually. Personally, they're fucking lucky as hell. They kill their POW, we torture ours, supposedly, which is worse? I don't see you talking bad about them, I don't see you asking them if they aren't such a threat why they don't stop fighting like they have something to prove. Let me put it this way, hypthetically you have a son, if someone as old as you hits your son, what would you do? I know what I would do and I agree with what the U.S. did somewhat, but I am not going to bitch about it simply because I agreed in the first place that we should go there, I did not define a scope, and I am not the type to bitch about my own personal decisions, get pissed off about them or regret them. So in the long haul, I will back up my country because I ran with their decision. Im no half asser. I am no fair weather American, I am a full blown proud American to the bones and will be till the day I die, good or bad, just like when I get married, I will back up my wife through the stupid decisions and the bad decisions, I will support her no matter what, I am no fair weather half ass kind person though ;)

Again, maybe you should read closer? I didn't know bush as the president back in 1996 ;), the whole point was, that he was NOT the only president to vote against Habeas corpus in certain cases, look it up, count the numerous times it has been suspended. I don't see you bitching about that now do I? Do you guys pick one instance and bitch about it instead of attacking all instances of the occurrence causing a bug? If only my life was so simple that I could pick one bug out of an entire application and fix it and only it right?

Erm, if you didn't grasp the whole meaning of the idea before:
War: a state or period of armed hostility or active military operations.
It's nothing unprecedented, what the US is doing at the moment, it's simply a time of ruthlessness and utter moral decadence. I feel with you on the pacifist sentiments, however I still love this country like no other...
I didn't know that if I was in the middle of a war, I should take the time to stop the war and charge each person individually. Personally, they're fucking lucky as hell. They kill their POW, we torture ours, supposedly, which is worse?
Yes- and for all we know, they might even be torturing our men and women before they kill them. The American Press is a funny one, what we see from them is basically what shapes the general feeling of the public, whether it be the entire story or not.
The only complaint I have right now is why Bush wants to send 20,000+ more of our troops to this awful land of bitter and violence?

We are wasting our man-power, tax dollars, etc, on people who are so backwards they might as well be living in another century.
