The situation in Iraq

I thought i'd ask you what you all think about the situation in Iraq. Its been a long time since the problems started and i was wondering if you think things have improved or not.

Even though I don't thiunk going into Iraq was the best decision. I don't feel that it is going as bad as people say.

When you look at the statistics most of the population wants us there and they actually do have a fairly decent trained police force.

They have also drafted a Constitution. All that's really left is wait and see if it works or not.

Yeah, most people around here think it is a bad thing but the country would have just gotten alot worse if nothing was done.

As for these weapons of mass desctruction...

...they been found yet?? :P

I think he has gotten smarter though.

The new constitution says that each religious group owns its own section of the country.

Pretty much the responsibility now is keeping the Sunni's in line and preventing Turkey and Iran from gaining power in the Shiite district.

As for weapons of mass destruction, we may not have found any but we can't really do much now. Backing out will only make the situation worse.

I still think it's a waste of money. We went over there to do what we thought we needed to do...now it's time to send our troops home. We're spending too much money on a cause that dosen't need any more time.

I think sometime within the next year would do. Definately no later than that.

I think they should have been home about 8 months ago, to be honest.

I think that might have been too early. Someone needed to watch over the elections and the Constitution. If we backed down it probably would of led to one of Saddam's former suppoirters taking over.

But that's just my opinion.

It's not OUR problem! That's the thing with America. We try to be big and bad and be the Superman of the world. That's why everyone hates us. We're cocky, arrogant pricks who think we're better than everyone.

Iraq has been around alot longer than we have. They're perfectly capable of forming their own government and dealing with their own politics.
