I think they do because the game is meant the be as challenging as its made. You are not meant to buy a game and then go out and buy a magazine to get the latest cheats for it so you can tell all your mates you completed it before it loaded! :P
Thread re-named and moved to general gaming forum, Cheats Forum is for discussing cheat codes, not their effects on gameplay.

To me it depends upon the cheat. Some do(Age of Empire's II Black Death cheat.) some don't (Age of Empires II machine gunning car cheat.)

I take it you like Age of Empires II then?
I know what you mean though, soem cheats are okay but the ones which make the game really worthless are the ones that annoy me!

I used to play that game. It is an accurate portrayal of the Crusades, which is an important part of my religion's history.

I always used the machine gunning car cheat on Age of Empires II, when ever i did a level and forgot to save, so i didn't have to go through the whole building an army and base routine again!

I do it for fun.
I have a few programs that mod PC games by inverting the colours, fusing your own face onto characters, etc. I guess you could call that modifying a game to make it more enjoyable. I haven't ever cheated to make it easier. I think that sucks.
