In my opinion, no, i dont like much of there music and hardly any of the new stuff.

They're more pop-punk, to be honest.

Greenday are only now classed as the best punk band because they have become more into the mainstream music, and appeal to more audiences than other punk bands. I agree with emo, they are more pop punk.
Their old stuff is a LOT better.

1st of all if u fink bad religion are the best punk band den u best get downloadin cos i can name hundreds better... greendays old stuff of 'dookie' album etc was v punk orientated and has lead 2 the new generation of punk...but in this i wud deffinatly not class them as the best..more one of the most influentual punk bands....in the same way u might desribe the sex pistols who in themselves defined punk as a genre...this doesnt mean the sex pistols are the best but probably the most important.

im not much of a greenday fan and wouldn't classify them as punk either. there old stuff was alright yeh, but they weren't going anywhere with it. doing what they're doing now is appealing to more of the younger kids i guess, and they r doin alot better......if any of that made any sense..

American Idiot is a lot different from the old Nimrod/Kerplunk/Dookie material. I have to say the old is a lot more to my taste, because of the 'don't care what anyone thinks' additude to it. It's so much more.. carefree. Whereas, the American Idiot material is, in my mind, aimed at young 'punks' and the likes, instead of making music for the love of it and the fun aspect.

But yeah. My opinion :)
