I'm currently watching the second season of Deadwood, the HBO series that lasted from 2004-06. I think it's pretty damned good, better than I expected it to be at least.

Has anyone else even heard of it?

It's about the town of Deadwood (located in present day South Dakota) in the 1870s when it wasn't part of the US. Pretty crazy, there is no law whatsoever at first and people just get offed left and right for minor things.

Pretty grisly, and a LOT of foul language.
