About two years ago i applied to Tussauds (The company that runs Chessington and Thorpe Park), and first they got back to me in sept '02 asking me to work during the halloween term (end of oct holidays), i said no because it was too far, but anyway they then sent a letter to me discussion vacancies within the park. I rang up and got an interview - been there done it, just waiting to hear from them know!
But the total point is that i told my mum and at first she was like yeah go for it, but now shes holding me back - so im thinking fcuk it, its the job ive always wanted to do, so why shouldn't i go for it! And as the parks the other side of surrey if i have to work a late one da, then do an early the next i'll have to go all the way home, then back again basicly, so i mentioned this during the call before my interview and she said that they offer some sort of "temporary housing". Im soooooooo tempted to go into one of them houses!
Please i need soe advice on what to do !? Also has anyone tried doing what im doin now??

Well i guess this depends on how old u are, im 14 and the thought of stayin away from home all because of a job make me feel like its too much trouble.
Personally, i dont think its worth the bother, and u should find one somewhere else.
This is like part time right?

Well, i think if its what you've always wanted to do then you shouldn't let anyone or anything stop you! Go for it:)

Thank you! At first i thought to myself arr hell i'll go up there anyways, but i've been offered a job at Next now, its only weekends but they said it'll lead on to full employment - my family was jumping for joy at this!!
And as for the age thing, i've just turnt 18 (hehe like 3 weeks ago!) so its about time i moved out - specially with this biatch on my case all the bloody time. Im gona have a party if i do lol. My mums going through a tought time, so she's annoyed and upset and coz im the youngest im at home all the time so all her sheet comes to me, then i get annoyed with her, but anyway, as i mentioned i applied bout 2 years ago and was gutted when they sent out a letter each time sayin "we regret to inform you on this oocation that we are not offereing anymore vacancies" blah blah, but now its here and im just waiting for a call from them i'm soooooooo excited about it, for me its a wicked oppurtunity!

I'm thinking pharmacist again after jess's help today :) I'd love to get into the London school.. http://www.ulsop.ac.uk/registry/mpharm-info.htm .. that's the link for it.. Apart from that there's other options such as physiotherapy.. psychology... optometry.. etc etc. There's a lot of things I'd like to do. I'm keeping my options open. :)

Can i ask at what age did u decide what u want to become?
Cause like everyone i know, has an idea in what industry or job they want to enter, and i dont really give a damn at the moment, nor do i have a clue what i want to be....

I'm going to college, which is like your uni there, I think, to get a job in the Record Company industry(talent scouting/recording/advertisement). I wanna major in that and minor in musical performance.

Im really interested in studying psychology, learn how to deal with family problems will be a big help for me lol. Anyway, theres alot more to it from what i know probably but yeah to me that does look interesting! As you said Fender.chiq your keeping your options open, thats the same as i wish to do, but when i start working at Thorpe Park *keeps fingers crossed* they offer a day courses for you to do and stuff like that so that too seems interesting!

Today we had our induction - it was wicked!
First we had to do a task, like altogether go into the park and answer a questionnaire (i.e. work together and complete the task), then we had a agame where we had to throw a ball then say our own names so that the other person knew who it was!

Lmao. it might sound boring, but for me who has low confidence, found today really easy going and exciting. Plus working in a theme park you need confidence lol!
