The Plot: Professional hitman Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) awakes with a pounding headache and pains in his chest. Upon stumbling into the living room of his apartment, he discovers a DVD with a recorded message telling him he was injected with a poisonous substance for which there is no cure, and gives him only 1 hour to live. Discovering that keeping his adrenaline levels up keeps him alive longer, he runs across town trying to kill the people responsible for his 'death' before he takes his last breath.

What's Good: The pace of the film never lets up, with almost constant action sequences throughout. The tone of the film is also very comedic, and it never takes itself seriously, which for a film like this is a VERY good thing. There is also one of the most hilarious sex scenes i have ever seen in a film, where Statham's character needs a 'quickie' adrenaline boost in the middle of Chinatown. The main action scenes are fairly well handled too, but for an 18 rated film i think it could possibly have been a bit more violent.

What's Bad: The acting, i know its a only meant to be a pure action film but i think that the acting could have been better, especially from the fairly one dimensional Jason Statham. The story is pretty weak too, and the ending isn't very satisfying if i'm honest, leaving you thinking "what was the point of that film".

Conclusion: It's probably the stupidest film i've seen all year, and that's coming from someone who's seen 'Snakes on a Plane', but its also strangely enjoyable, if only for the pumped up action sequences. Forget that it's about as believable as a flying pig, and you'll like it.

7/10

PS: I love those comfy seats in the "Over 18's Only" room at Cineworld, they actually move! and the leg room rocks! lol :P

It's not the over-18's screen. :P They have 3 of them, I used to go to one to review films for a magazine.

It might not be now, but i remember when it was called Virgin Megaplex (ah, those were the days, lol) and those screens were called the 'Premier Screens' which were for over 18's only because of the bar :P

And Wayne, you just summed up the film basically in those five words :)

It's worth going to see if only to see these two scenes:
The "Surprise Sex(tm)" scene :P
& the bit where Jason Statham says "Do i look like i've got 'Cunt' written on my forhead?", and then for some reason the word 'Cunt' magically appears on his forehead (seriously), rofl.

It was the stupidity that made it funny :P, if it was a serious film it would have just been another generic action film and you could call it: "Speed 3: Heart Attack", lol.

PS: You've finally started posting Leon :)
