Old is new all over again on WiiWare this week, as Hudson has released the 3D remake of their classic sci-fi themed pinball game, Alien Crush Returns. Joining it on WiiWare is the, uh, interior decorating game Home Sweet Home, and Sega's Master System port of Space Harrier rounds out this week's releases on the Virtual Console. Alien Crush Returns takes the original TurboGrafx-16 Alien Crush, and updates it with 3D graphics and new Wii-specific features. You can use the Wii remote to "nudge" the pinball machine, and you can also go online to play against up to four players. There's also a high score competition online, and you'll eventually be able to download extra stages as well (there's no mention whether the stages will cost you more Wii Points, but we're guessing they will). Alien Crush Returns will cost you 800 Wii Points, or $8. Then there's Home Sweet Home, which seems to eschew the pretext of "gameplay" from Animal Crossing, and gives you a pure injection of what everyone ended up obsessing over in the game anyway: Home decoration. Given an empty room as your canvas, you choose the furniture, fabric, and color designs to decorate the room to your heart's content. The game promises "a fun graphical style" and "an easy-to-use interface," which is good, because everyone knows there's nothing more complicated than interior design. Home Sweet Home will cost you 1,000 Wii Points, or $10. More... |
